What You Need to Know for Long Beach Pride This Weekend (2024)

Long Beach Pride returns to its May roots this weekend, marking the 41st annual celebration with a day-long festival on both Saturday and Sunday. The festivities will take place at Rainbow Lagoon, featuring music, food, healthcare services, and family entertainment. The highlight is Sunday’s parade, which will showcase over 130 local organizations, grand marshals, dancing, costumes, music, and more.

Here’s all the essential information, including details on road closures along the parade route.

Teen Pride

The festivities kick off on Friday night with a free Teen Pride event at Rainbow Lagoon from 4 to 9 p.m. This gathering will include drag shows, DJs, vendors, booths, food, and more.

Festival

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday at Rainbow Lagoon, 386 E. Shoreline Drive.

• General Admission: $40 each day
• VIP Tickets: $125 each day, includes luxury restrooms, an “elevated” bar experience, a shaded lounge area, and a “chill” zone. For tickets, click here.

Entertainment spans multiple stages with country, hip-hop, and dance performances. Headliners include Ivy Queen (Sunday) and Saucy Santana (Saturday), along with Valentina (Sunday), Reyna Roberts (Saturday), and more. Long Beach’s renowned drag queen, Jewels, will also perform on both days.

Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation. Public parking is available along Shoreline Drive and in garages near the Aquarium, Marina Green, and Shoreline Village.

Parade

The main event is the parade on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon, running down Ocean Boulevard between Lindero and Alamitos avenues. This year’s theme is Rhythm and Rainbows.

Grand marshals include past Long Beach Pride board members, Celebrity Grand Marshal Saucy Santana, Media Grand Marshals Annabelle Sedano (NBC4) and Enrique Chiabra (Telemundo 52), Marilyn Barlow Grand Marshal Irene “DJ Irene” Gutierrez, Robert Crow Grand Marshal Robert Cano, Judith Doyle Grand Marshal Dykes on Bikes, Bryan “Whitey” Littlefield Community Bridge Building Grand Marshal Evan Braude, “Morris Knight” Political Grand Marshal Stuart Milk (Harvey Milk Foundation), and Dr. Robert Garcia Youth Grand Marshal Kelly Melvin.

Road Closures

Be aware of road closures on Sunday to accommodate the parade:

• No Parking from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
  • Ocean Boulevard from Redondo to Atlantic avenues.
  • Immediate side streets on the north and south sides of Ocean Boulevard from Redondo to Atlantic avenues.
• Street Closures from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
  • 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Ocean Boulevard between Redondo and Lindero, including side streets.
  • 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Shoreline Drive between Ocean Boulevard and Shoreline Village Drive.
  • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Ocean Boulevard between Lindero and Atlantic, including side streets.
  • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Alamitos Avenue between Ocean Boulevard and Broadway.
