From The Pingry School
The mission of The Pingry School is to foster in students a lifelong commitment to intellectual exploration, individual growth, and social responsibility by inspiring and supporting them to strive for academic and personal excellence within an ethical framework that places the highest value on honor and respect for others.
Our School mission is exemplified on campus on a daily basis—from teachers who motivate their students to achieve more than they thought was possible, to the thoughtful discussions of classmates asking how they can support one of their peers. Our mission is also essential to realizing our vision: preparing students to be global citizens and leaders in the 21st century. In preparing our students to succeed in the future, we focus on four key pillars:
Honor and Character
Intellectual Engagement
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Stewardship and Sustainability

The Pingry School Reviews

My son completed his first year of middle school at Pingry. My son is an ambitious, sporty, introvert-extrovert and the school so far has been a perfect fit for him. A nice blend of focus on academics, community, and sports. I do sense that not every new student had the same experience in making new friends as my son did, but I think that would be the case in any new school environment. The one opportunity for the school to attract more diverse candidates - many Asian and Indian groups are represented, but other groups are an opportunity.
Academics: there was about 1 hour of homework 4 days a week, and a focus on quizzes/assignments and team projects, rather than massive final tests.
Community: spirit week, celebrate pingry, orientation week with a sleepover in the Pottersville campus all help to foster community.
Sports: appropriately competitive. I loved how team practices were included within the actually school day.
So far, well worth the $$$.

What really makes Pingry stand out is how it helps students become leaders. My son has really grown into a leader there, whether he's in class, at swim practice, or the student clubs. Being able to take on responsibilities as a freshman has really helped him grow personally and academically. I also want to give a big thank you to the admission office. They were there for us every step of the way, from filling out forms to starting school. They made sure my son felt welcome and supported, and we're really grateful for all their help.

My experience this year with The Pingry School has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we started the application, we felt connected to Pingry. As a new 9th grader, my daughter's transition into Pingry has been remarkably seamless. The school's supportive environment has allowed her to flourish, both academically and socially. I've witnessed her growth firsthand as she embraces challenges and opportunities. It is amazing to see her become more of a leader this year.
What truly stood out to me this year was the genuine care and attention to detail exhibited by the admissions team. They not only made the experience enjoyable but also took the time to truly know my daughter. It felt as though they knew her better than I did, which makes me feel a great sense of confidence in the school's ability to support her in the next four years.
