After the shift in studios, the director and a few other important roles were changed in One Punch Man Season 2. Debuted in April 2019, fans were furious over the dip in animation quality. The iconic fight scenes, which were the highlight of season one, were not up to the manga standards. Understandably, fans are concerned about the third season as it will also be adapted by J.C. Staff.

On 16 November 2024, an intrepid One-Punch Man YouTuber DPDM took to X to share his interaction with the anime’s character designer, Chikashi Kubota. After being asked about the production of the third season, the latter replied, “I can’t really say anything, but there might be some problems.” This caused a stir among the fans who grew worried about the upcoming series. It is quite common for studios to face small internal struggles during production. Therefore, Kubota’s reply should not raise any serious alarms. Nonetheless, fans are holding onto the faith that One Punch Man season 3 will not disappoint.

What will One Punch Man season 3 be about?

According to Yusuke Marata’s manga, the third season will continue the Monster Association arc where the latter will arrive at the Hero Association. They will ask the Hero Association to co-exist with the monster. However, it will later turn out to be a ruse. The third season will have a lot of action as the Monster Association wants an all-out war between the Heroes and the Monsters. Additionally, Garou will also engage in the deadly war with Saitama’s protege Genos.

When is One Punch Man season 3 likely to be released?

Fans of the anime series are no strangers to being patient with its release dates. The special announcement clip of One Punch Man Season 3 was released on 29 February 2024. However, there has been radio silence from the studio since then. Fans are expecting the anime to drop in the spring 2025 season, which begins in March/April. If not, it can drop in the popular fall window, starting from October 2025. Although it has not been confirmed yet, the third season is expected to be streaming on Crunchyroll like the previous seasons.
